Margiela on the table & Shwood Sunglasses

Looky looky what i found on sale today on Amazon.com:

It was put together by the man himself using never before seen images and samples from his personal archive. There are a lot of great fashion books out there and especially after buying The Sartorialist, I like the idea of building my fashion coffee book collection…makes me feel cultured and I get to have inspiring pictures in flesh rather than on a computer screen. Check it out here

Also while procrastinating i came upon these sunglass from Shwood, their retro but made out of wood which is very refreshing for some reason. It looks clean and their 100% sustainable too! yay for being fashion friendly and eco conscious! Go here

Enchanting Hawaii

This Vogue China editorial for the July 2009 issue is so beautiful and I love the mood…its reminds me a bit of lula eds but less kitschy. I like all the dreamy blended colors that kind of float around anna as she roams the pretty beach. Its the straight up pretty pretty done right in my mind bc there are a lot of good eds out there with better, more creative concepts but I feel that it doesn't always translate well in pictures so sometimes its true the simpler the prettier…

****WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY POST****

Erik Halley Accessories

Erik Halley has been creating unique accessories for some of fashion’s biggest names like Lagerfeld, Yohji, Givenchy, Mugler, Dior, just to name a few. His art has not only been featured in exhibitions, he was also the first designer to ever create an accessories runway show during fashion week in Paris (1999). On of his biggest breaks came when in 1996 he was commission by our fashion father Lagerfeld to create the arrangements for Chanel accessories.

He uses everything in his one of-a-kind creations such as, eagle feathers, leather, and crystals. image
image
He has crafted performance pieces for Madonna like an “oxidized metal necklace using Indian-inspired trimmings” and for David Bowie, “orchid-shaped feather earrings” and for  most recently BeyoncĂ© a crystal encrusted bodice designed by Thierry Mugler.
image
Erik consistently creates wearable art and he can commission a piece by appointment, starting at about 90 Euros.
image    Ok, so the first picture is of a Louboutin shoe!!?? that Erik created into a hat!!! crazy huh?  while the second one..well what can I say is just a pretty rad necklace
