Vogue Russia Supplement

Photographed by Matt Irwin, its a jewelry ed interpretation of the zodiac signs, love the colors.

p.s. I tried the forever 21 matte nail polish and its not bad and I knew this before but it didn't register w/ me that when you rub the nail polish (like when buttoning ur clothes, etc) it turns to normal shiny polish so keeping it matte is quite a feat.

Ummm…

How did I not see this sooner? so, Forever 21 is stepping up their makeup game lately, so what? well they caught on to my obsession with matte nail polish but knew i didn't want to drop like 28$ on a bottle *cough Knock Out Cosmetics so they decided to give me a cheaper option for 2.50$!!! I am def going to go buy a couple and test it out…hopefully its keeper

I still really like the KO colors and bottles better, but its just nail polish…there is also a medium range matte polish from O.P.I that seem to be promising as well

Margiela on the table & Shwood Sunglasses

Looky looky what i found on sale today on Amazon.com:

It was put together by the man himself using never before seen images and samples from his personal archive. There are a lot of great fashion books out there and especially after buying The Sartorialist, I like the idea of building my fashion coffee book collection…makes me feel cultured and I get to have inspiring pictures in flesh rather than on a computer screen. Check it out here

Also while procrastinating i came upon these sunglass from Shwood, their retro but made out of wood which is very refreshing for some reason. It looks clean and their 100% sustainable too! yay for being fashion friendly and eco conscious! Go here

Enchanting Hawaii

This Vogue China editorial for the July 2009 issue is so beautiful and I love the mood…its reminds me a bit of lula eds but less kitschy. I like all the dreamy blended colors that kind of float around anna as she roams the pretty beach. Its the straight up pretty pretty done right in my mind bc there are a lot of good eds out there with better, more creative concepts but I feel that it doesn't always translate well in pictures so sometimes its true the simpler the prettier…

Erik Halley Accessories

Erik Halley has been creating unique accessories for some of fashion’s biggest names like Lagerfeld, Yohji, Givenchy, Mugler, Dior, just to name a few. His art has not only been featured in exhibitions, he was also the first designer to ever create an accessories runway show during fashion week in Paris (1999). On of his biggest breaks came when in 1996 he was commission by our fashion father Lagerfeld to create the arrangements for Chanel accessories.
image

He uses everything in his one of-a-kind creations such as, eagle feathers, leather, and crystals. image
image
He has crafted performance pieces for Madonna like an “oxidized metal necklace using Indian-inspired trimmings” and for David Bowie, “orchid-shaped feather earrings” and for  most recently BeyoncĂ© a crystal encrusted bodice designed by Thierry Mugler.
image
Erik consistently creates wearable art and he can commission a piece by appointment, starting at about 90 Euros.
image    Ok, so the first picture is of a Louboutin shoe!!?? that Erik created into a hat!!! crazy huh?  while the second one..well what can I say is just a pretty rad necklace

Cupcakes

The damn things are so cute but I have yet to find one from a cupcake store that tastes just as good as it looks ( do NOT say sprinkles that crap is nasty)…I really like baking them, their fun and cute and I especially love the mini ones. I usually love the way my cupcakes or mini cakes taste but sometimes for someone special like my little sister (her birthday), you want them to look professional…so i stopped by Dots cupcakes in Pasadena to get some and they don't taste to shabby either…

The flavors are: strawberry lemonade, chocolate mint, and red velvet

I am smitten with these miniature versions of cupcakes I think they’re waay better than the huge ones with pounds of frosting and thus taste better too!
